How The Practice Began.

The tutoring journey began in 2010 at university level, teaching Mathematics and Calculus through both group and one-to-one enquiry. Over the years, one pattern became increasingly clear: marks rarely move from more hours alone. They move when the method matches how the learner thinks.

By 2018, this had developed into independent one-to-one tutoring, where the diagnostic approach became increasingly deliberate.

In 2020, Elite Tutor was built to bring the diagnostic method to scale. The legal entity, Elite Tutor (Pty) Ltd, was registered on 3 February 2021.

Over the following years, the methodology was progressively codified. What began as practice-based pattern recognition became a documented framework, and now sits publicly as ET 2.0.

Where this began.

Phenyo's diagnostic work with learners began in 2018, when she was working independently as a private tutor. Across thousands of hours of one-to-one work, a pattern surfaced: marks rarely move from more hours alone. They move when the method matches how the learner thinks.

The instinct had earlier roots. Phenyo trained at the University of Cape Town in Economics (BCom Economics and Finance, 2011; Honours in Applied Economics, 2016), where she also led the tutor body for the UCT Economics 101 cohort of over one thousand first-year students and tutored Advanced Macroeconomics and Microeconomics at third-year level. Teaching fundamentals to students at scale taught her something the methodology would later codify.

Beyond UCT, Phenyo trained internationally: a DELF B2 qualification from the Catholic University of Lyon (2014) and a tenure as a French-to-English data analyst at BrandsEye, an artificial intelligence company specialising in social media insight. The international exposure shaped her capacity to work across systems, languages, and contexts.

In 2020, Elite Tutor was built. Lockdown disrupted the conventional schooling system, and the decision was made to bring the diagnostic method to scale through an online platform. The business was structured around the practice she had been running independently for two years. The legal entity, Elite Tutor (Pty) Ltd, was formally registered on 3 February 2021.

Over the following years, the methodology was progressively codified. What began as diagnostic instinct became a documented framework. The Clarity Success Guide™ now serves as the foundation that everything else builds from. The trademark portfolio was filed in late 2025. Phenyo's entrepreneurial training (Investec Start-Up School and the Academy of Women Entrepreneurs) shaped how the practice is structured: as a vertically integrated ecosystem rather than a single offering.

Today, Elite Tutor 2.0 is the KNOW layer of the broader Miss PVK™ ecosystem. Career and Development Advantage is the BECOME layer. The Miss PVK Organisation Development Practice is the BUILD layer. Each entity carries its own lane. Each operates under one doctrine: individuals must understand how they function before they can optimise their learning, realise their potential, and build solutions for their communities.

She is not a tutor. She is not a coach. She is the architect of the conditions under which learners show up to the content they already have.

Elite Tutor 2.0 holds the learning ecosystem: learners, parents, support and schools organised around one diagnostic-led architecture. The Miss PVK Practice holds the wider organisational, career and diagnostic work that operates beyond the learner room.

One practitioner provides the diagnostic-led learning and development architecture; the other provides regulated psychometric assessment. Together, they produce structured visibility that informs the learner’s appropriate starting point.
